QMV is delighted to announce the appointment of Joanne Schembri as chief operating officer and Wendy Colaço as general manager, consulting, effective on 1 April, 2021.

The appointments form part of a restructure across the QMV group of companies that provide advice, consulting, technology and legal services to the superannuation, wealth management and life insurance industries.

Ms Schembri brings 30 years of experience within superannuation and the broader financial services finance sector. She has held senior leadership, executive coaching and advisory roles. She has a unique whole-of-organisation view and a strong commercial perspective balanced with extensive people and culture expertise.

Mark Vaughan managing director at QMV said that Ms Schembri has been an integral part of QMV’s growth, particularly in the last three years and was invaluable throughout the COVID-19 period.

“Jo has been with QMV for almost eight years. She is the perfect person to have in the newly created COO role which oversees operations across the QMV group of companies.

This is an exciting time for QMV, we are growing in capability and size, and entering new markets so we need someone with an instinctive growth mindset who deeply knows our businesses, our people and our values.

It will be critical in this next growth phase to retain the same ‘expertise with character, ambition with humility’ culture as we pursue significant change.”

Commenting on her recent appointment, Ms Schembri said, “The QMV board have set a bold growth agenda for the business. I made the decision to join QMV knowing this was always part of the long-term vision. I am energised by the expansion of my role and the opportunity to lead the business into its next growth phase.”

Ms Colaço’s new role as general manager, consulting is integral in supporting the delivery of exceptional client outcomes while supporting QMV’s organisational growth strategy.

Ms Colaço offers over 20 years’ experience in financial services and has led global consulting businesses in a range of disciplines including insurance, technology and human behaviour. Wendy has lived in six countries, delivered work in over 50 cities and worked with over 300 companies.

Mr Vaughan said QMV are depending on Wendy to put the needs and requirements of its clients and consultants first and foremost while expanding QMV’s consulting capabilities and client base.

“Wendy has extraordinary international experience and offers the degree of sophistication and perspective that this role requires. I’m delighted she accepted the opportunity and know she will deliver on QMV’s remit to provide exceptional client outcomes.”
