Fitted for Work clothing drive for International Women's Day

 
 

International Women's Day - Thursday 8  March 2018

To help celebrate all the wonderful, diverse women in our lives, the QMV corporate social responsibility team are holding a clothing drive to support Fitted for Work.

What is Fitted for Work?

Fitted for Work are dedicated to helping women experiencing disadvantage get into work and keep it. They accept donations of business-appropriate women's clothes and run fitting sessions with women who otherwise would not be able to afford suitable clothes for a workplace. Additionally, they organise mentoring, help with resume writing, and engage in preparation for interviews.

How can I help?

Our CSR group would greatly appreciate the support of QMV staff, clients and the broader financial services community to donate suitable women's clothing or accessories. These items must follow the ABC of donations:

  • Appropriate for interviews
  • Best possible condition
  • Clean

If you, your partner, friends, or family have any clothing or accessories (such as handbags, scarves, etc) that meets these requirements and is no longer needed, please drop them at QMV head office by 11am Friday 9 March.

  • Donations collection point: QMV, Level 4 / 10 Queen Street, Melbourne
  • Donations due date: 11am Friday 9 March

Alternatively our CSR representatives will be very happy to collect donations from your office and forward these on to Fitted For Work.

Can I donate money instead?

Yes! As you can imagine, it's not cheap for Fitted for Work to put women through these services, and in fact costs roughly $115 per woman to get the full fitting and interview prep services. As such, we will also be accepting cash donations on the day.
