What were you doing before joining QMV?
Very similar work to what QMV does now, but in a smaller company that I established and owned myself.

Why did you decide to join QMV?
QMV provides a greater capacity (more interested and clever people) to pursue bigger opportunities (greater range of types and complexity of work) with a broader range of customers across the Superannuation and Wealth Management industry.

What are you working on now?
Finishing off some work associated with the way a fund calculates and applies investment interest to its member balances and helping our team establish some new company initiatives.

What has been most rewarding about your QMV experience?
Successfully engaging the right people to drive the Superannuation and Wealth Management industry into the 21st century.

What were you doing before joining QMV?
I worked for a Superannuation software provider, and was involved in several large transition projects. During this stage of my working life, I gained a lot of experience with Defined Benefit funds and large Industry funds.

Why did you decide to form QMV?
Michael Quinn, Mark Vaughan and I formed QMV in May 2008, with a common goal of making a difference in the Superannuation environment. We knew we could offer a different and better approach to dealing with issues, irrespective of which business area these issues arose in. We always envisaged ourselves being surrounded by, and working with, like-minded people. QMV has been very lucky to attract extremely high-calibre staff, all with multiple years of experience in the Superannuation and Wealth Management industry.

What are you working on now?
My day-to-day work involves hands-on activity at various client sites, primarily as a subject matter expert for varied software, finance and data integrity projects. QMV provides an opportunity to match a person with the kind of work that they like to perform; for me, this will always be an "on-the-tools" role.

What has been most rewarding about your QMV experience?
The most rewarding experience for me has been to witness the growth of QMV from a three-person business to a thriving enterprise. The experience gathered along the way has been invaluable, and has reinforced some very basic concepts for me. If someone wants to make a difference for the better, and they are talented enough and provided with enough guidance, they cannot help but succeed. QMV is lucky to have a unique and special group of people that can, and do, make a difference. No one works for QMV; we all work with QMV.
